Anxiety Anxiety can be experienced in both mind and body and is a mood condition that can be a response to a particular stimulus, or have no recognisable trigger. Generalised Anxiety Disorder can also occur, anxiety over a long period of time that can be focused around specific issues or situations. The sufferer experiences that uncomfortable feeling that something unpleasant may be about to happen. The physiological and emotional symptoms can be very similar to those experienced when under stress. Extreme anxiety can lead to panic attacks, a debilitating and potentially frightening condition. Coping strategies can be learned, and exploring any underlying concerns that may lie behind the anxiety can be very helpful. |
