Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy utilises what is often called the trance state, or hypnotic trance. Trance is an entirely natural state for human beings, something that happens to us many times a day. It is very similar to daydreaming, or that rather pleasant feeling we get as we drift off to sleep. You remain conscious throughout, and able to return to the fully waking state whenever you wish. Hypnosis is a slightly altered state of consciousness that allows us to engage with your unconscious mind, and utilise its resources to the maximum to help you achieve your goals.

Hypnotherapy is only effective with goals that you are comfortable attaining, you cannot be influenced to do anything that you are not comfortable with. Hypnotherapy allows us to work together to achieve what you want to achieve.

People often ask what to expect, or what does hypnotherapy feel like. I believe that we each experience trance in our own way, there is no right or wrong way. Generally trance is a very calming and relaxing experience not unlike meditation. People usually feel relaxed for some time after hypnotherapy, and I will often teach people self - hypnosis as a useful relaxation technique.

Hypnotherapy can be very effective with problems such as: smoking, nail biting, anxiety/panic, stress, exam nerves/performance anxiety, sports performance, insomnia, confidence, weight management, phobias, skin disorders and motivation.

Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of emotional & habit problems, including:
